Obtained PhD in Chemical Pathology UCT (2008), with the Bronte Stewart Prize for the most
meritorious Doctoral thesis. Postdoctoral training in innate immunology (UCT), 2008-2012.
Second Postdoctoral Fellowship (2012-2015) at Harvard TH Chan School of Public (HSPH) in
immunology and infectious diseases. Currently a Wellcome Trust Fellow at UCT; also a Visiting
Scientist at HSPH. Research interests in lung granulomas and Tuberculosis
immunopathogenesis. Personal awards include SAMRC Scientific Merit Award (2016); UCT
2016 College of Fellows Young Researcher Award. Sydney Brenner Fellowship (2012). World
Economic Forum (WEF) Young Scientist (2016), and he is a fellow of the Next Einstein Forum.
